What we offer
As an independent connection provider, we’re a National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) provider, accredited to compete with the Distribution Network Operators (DNO), such as UK Power Networks, SSE and Northern Power Grid.
This is through a scheme called Competition in Connections, which has opened the market up to other providers. We can design, install and connect new electricity networks to your new-build development, often in a leaner, more innovative and more cost-effective way.
A vital element of our accreditation is that we deliver connections, which are to the correct specification and standard to be owned by a Distribution Network Operator (DNO) or Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO).
We’re recognised by and used to working with DNOs and can look after the process of applying for a point of connection to the DNO and live jointing the new network onto the existing power network. Contact us today to find out more about how we work as an ICP and how our personalised customer service will mean your needs will always be our number one priority.
Utility connections
We don’t just offer electric connections for new-build developments. We know that dealing with different companies for each utility can be a real headache on site. Therefore, we can provide all your utility connections – including electricity, gas, water and fibre-optic broadband, subcontracting to trusted and vetted partners for the non-electric utilities. This can save site managers the problems of scheduling and dealing with the paperwork involved in individually contracting several providers.
Building Network Operator (BNO) network connections
Whether you’re a construction firm, a commercial landlord, or a property manager, you might be a building network operator (BNO). Whether you’re completing a multi-occupancy new-build development, or refurbishing a multi-occupied property which requires changes to the electricity service infrastructure, compulsory rules called BNO design standard will apply to you. It’s important to understand how this affects your responsibilities.
Here at Utilex Connections we can offer you greater flexibility to meet your current electricity supply needs, as well as your future requirements, rather than you having to pay the distribution company to install a single point of supply. Contact us to find out more.
Utility designs
Part of our expert service is our ability to design your utility installations and connections. You’ll have the benefit of Utilex’s support and project management team, who will work closely with you throughout the whole process to ensure that the installation fully meets your needs, as well as being compliant with all required regulations and specifications. Our team have knowledge and experience across a range of connection types, from industrial and commercial use through to residential developments.
As a fully accredited member of the National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS), here at Utilex Connections we combine a wealth of experience with the necessary certification to design and install networks ready for adoption by the Distribution Network Operator or Independent Distribution Network Operator.
Project management & assistance
Our complete service means we’ll manage every aspect of your utility connection project. This includes everything from designing contestable network solutions and confirming the non-contestable works through to procuring plant and materials, carrying out the associated civil engineering works and providing expert advice on the regulatory environment to help improve delivery and minimise delays. We can also manage any necessary legal negotiations, and of course will be the primary point of contact with the DNO.
